Ypsilanti Gun Buyback

2019

The Cream Incorporated Contacted Ypsilanti Police Chief Tony DeGiusti and the Ypsilanti Police Department about coordinating efforts for an Ypsilanti Gun Buyback Event. After multiple meetings, relentless organizing, and the tenacious work ethic of The Ypsilanti Police Department, Ypsilanti and Washtenaw County Elected Officials, Potential Ypsilanti & Washtenaw County elected Officials, The Ypsilanti Community, and The Cream Incorporated; it has been established that an Ypsilanti Gun Buyback event will take place on August 24, 2019 at the Ypsilanti Police Department. The Ypsilanti Gun Buyback was part of a Cream Incorporated Southeastern Violence and Crime reduction strategy that transitions into Community Based Empowerment Sessions that creates solutions for Socio Economic Ills. The Cream will secure a location within the city of Ypsilanti where individuals can surrender their firearms, no questions asked. All firearms are thereafter handled properly by The Ypsilanti Police Department. On August 24,2019 at The Ypsilanti Community Church The Cream Incorporated along with the Ypsilanti Police Department and hosted a Firearm & Pistol Buyback. The Ypsilanti Gun Buyback was/is part of a Cream Incorporated Southeastern Violence and Crime reduction strategy that transitions into Community Based Empowerment Sessions that creates solutions for Socio Economic Ills. From a purpose driven evaluation, this event was a success. We obtained over 22 Handguns and Assault rifles, that would have potentially motivated the illegal selling of guns that are illegal owned or stolen. The event started around 10:37am, and ended relatively fast due to the lack of funds. The Cream Incorporated raised donations in the amount of $1070.00 via GofundMe. The amount spent at the event was $ 2,240.00. The Cream Incorporated used funds designated for this event from a fund within The Cream Incorporated to cover the imminent offset of funds needed to make this event a success. All transactions were kept in a ledger obtained by the cream incorporated (which are reflected below), and individual transaction receipts were given to the Ypsilanti Police Department. We Would like to personally thank the Ypsilanti Police Department and The City of Ypsilanti for the unwavering support in our efforts to make this event a success.
